Beetlejuice. Beetlejuice! BEETLEJUICE! Fresh off the heels of Evil Dead, Spooky Pinball is taking its “boo-tique” line of pinball machines to the afterlife for Beetlejuice pinball! The new game boasts design from Spooky Luke and Corwin (Bug) Emery, with Code by Spooky DJ and Casey Butler. The latest and spooktacular table features art by Christopher Franchi, accompanied by music by Brady Hearn (original music), Danny Elfman, and Harry Belafonte (film score).

Based on the 1988 film directed by Tim Burton with music by Danny Elfman, Beetlejuice follows the story of the titular “bio-exorcist” who can only be summoned by saying his name three times; he was originally hired to rid the deceased Maitland family’s house of their new residents, the Deetzes, but winds up forming a relationship with their youngest daughter, Lydia.

Beetlejuice is available for purchase as of publication. However, most of the 999 officially produced units (not including some number of games made available for purchase at pinball shows in 2026) have already been pre-sold through Spooky’s distributor network. A small number of games were made available for direct purchase through Spooky as well, but by the time you’re reading this, they will already be spoken for.

‍Game pricing remains unchanged from their last release, with games starting at $9,999. Upgrades like a motorized Beetle-Snake topper, invisi-glass, and more are also available.

As you can tell from the trailer, the Beetlejuice pinball machine comes complete with iconic characters, set pieces, and visual gags from Tim Burton’s original film, including the Sandworm, Lydia’s Barloroid camera, the Afterlife couch, the Beetlejuice snake, the Maitland couple as their spooky, stretchy counterparts, the demon-like entrance to Beetlejuice’s brothel, and much more!

In Stern Pinball’s The Walking Dead Remastered pinball game, players will battle walkers and survive key scenes from The Walking Dead in an immersive physical pinball experience like none other.  The development team, led by John Borg, the designer of the original game, have created a modern version of the original masterpiece.  The playfield features enhanced versions of the “Cell Block C” Prison building, bicycle girl ramp, and an interactive Well Walker toy.  The fan-favorite crossbow device that shoots a pinball has been re-engineered and updated for increased precision and flexibility in gameplay.  The game also features new RGB lighting and illuminated zombie heads on the slingshots.

Extra care and attention to detail have gone into every facet of The Walking Dead Remastered, honoring the original masterpiece by John Borg and Lyman F. Sheats, Jr. The game includes an updated version of the revolutionary ruleset that introduced a new mode structure and risk-reward elements that have stood the test of time. It’s fun, it’s giving Frankenstein, but $85?? I suppose no one is forcing me. It’s easily the most expensive item in Netflix’s Frankenstein store, surpassing even the hoodie, tote, and hardcover art book.

We’ve seen so many popcorn buckets over the last year, including ones for The Conjuring: Last Rites, The Naked Gun, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Captain America: Brave New World, Gladiator II, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Alien: Romulus, and even Nosferatu.

Our own Chris Bumbray caught Frankenstein at the Toronto International Film Festival, and while he said the film was impressive, it wasn’t quite the masterpiece he was hoping it would be. “While I can’t quite call this my favorite Frankenstein adaptation, I’ll admit the overly drawn-out first half tested my patience,” he wrote. “Still, once the movie finds its footing, the second half is close to brilliant. Even if it’s uneven and slow to start, it ultimately blossoms into something powerful, a film that demands to be seen. It may take longer than it should to arrive at its peak, but when it does, it’s a striking reminder of what happens when a filmmaker is granted the freedom to pursue an undiluted vision. Del Toro has earned that privilege, and the result, while imperfect, is still essential viewing.” You can check out the rest of his review right here.

As for what’s next for Del Toro, the director did tease one of his next projects several months ago, which would reunite him with Frankenstein star Oscar Isaac. “I’m writing a project to do with Oscar,” he said. “I’m writing it right now, and it’s called Fury, and essentially it’s going back to [the] sort of thriller aspects of Nightmare Alley — very cruel, very violent. Like My Dinner with Andre but [with] killing people after each course.“

The Frankenstein popcorn bucket, yay or nay?

The Goonies LEGO set is made up of 2,912 pieces, and once complete, will have measurements of 15” tall, 7” deep and 24.5” wide, making it a nice display piece that you wouldn’t want Chunk anywhere near…Speaking of Chunk, he is one of 12 minifigures included in the box, joined by fellow Goonies Mikey, Data, and Mouth. Also in the set are Sloth, Mama Fratelli and more.

Data himself, Ke Huy Quan, even helped in the promotion of the LEGO Goonies set. “Revisiting Data after all these years – but this time in LEGO form – has been such a joyful experience. The Goonies was all about heart, adventure, and friendship, and this set captures that spirit in fantastic detail. From the booby traps to the treasure room, it’s like stepping back into the tunnels with the gang – only now, I get to share that magic with a whole new generation of fans.”

As Ke Huy Quan teased, the LEGO Goonies set is brimming with action that will let you recreate parts of the movie’s climax. We’ve got a secret fireplace, boulders, skeleton keys, the skeleton organ — there’s even an octopus, a nod to a famous deleted scene. So, yeah, there’s plenty to do with the set once it’s built.

At close to 3,000 pieces, you’ll be spending a lot of time building The Goonies LEGO set. So while you might not have the stunned, authentic reaction the cast did upon first seeing the Inferno (or did they…?), it will no doubt blow away your guests.

This Goonies set is actually part of the LEGO Ideas initiative, which lets fans and builders submit their own concepts in the hopes they get enough fan support to go through the next steps to eventually land on shelves. The designer of this set is Vaggelis Ntezes, who said of his process, “In designing this set, I revisited my childhood memories – growing up in the 80s, playing with LEGO Pirates sets and watching The Goonies. Combining nostalgia, fantasy, and creativity, I wanted to build something that offered both playability and display value. The final design merges the legendary Inferno with the cave system and booby traps, capturing the spirit of adventure that made the film so unforgettable. I’m thrilled to see it come to life and hope it brings joy to fans old and new.” The set comes out on November 4th at a price of $329.99.

The Michael Myers popcorn bucket will be available for purchase on October 7, helping to mark the start of the spooky season.

The bucket looks to be based on the ending of Halloween II, where Myers was shot in the eyes by Laurie Strode.

Just in the last year, we’ve had special popcorn buckets for The Conjuring: Last Rites, The Naked Gun, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Captain America: Brave New World, Gladiator II, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Alien: Romulus, and more. Hell, even Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu had a f***ing bucket! If I sound like a grumpy old man, I suppose I am.

Speaking of Halloween, there are several projects in the works to keep fans happy before the next inevitable big-screen reboot. First up is Halloween: The Game, which will let players choose between playing as the iconic Michael Myers or as residents of Haddonfield. There will be a single-player mode, offline bot combat, and online asymmetrical PVP gameplay. It will also include multiple maps and “authentic locations” from the classic film. It’s set to be released on September 8, 2026.

Additionally, a Halloween TV series has been in the works, but it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything concrete about it. Two years ago, Miramax’s Marc Helwig said the project was on the fast track. “We’ve had lots of exciting conversations in recent months with a number of really talented people, and I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of what we’re going to be doing very soon,” he said. “We’re hoping to lock down the creative team very soon. The foundation of (the show) is the original film, the John Carpenter movie, the characters of that film, and perhaps a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on that much in recent film versions or even in a number of them. It’s a creative reset completely and going back to the original film, as opposed to spinning out of any of the more recent film adaptations.“

While del Toro won’t be auctioning off every one of the items in Bleak House (there are over 5,000 after all), it will be spread across three phases, with the first set for later this month, with the second and third phases coming next year. As for what inspired the auction, del Toro said it started with the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year, which was just the most recent example of fires nearing the property. del Toro was able to move a lot of art previous times but it has apparently become a burden and also too dangerous to his passion.

He considered moving his collection to a museum but was concerned it would go uncurated and just sit in a warehouse. Thus, the auction, where he says he can “reach the true believers, the people that know what this means and can have it and say, ‘This is a legacy piece from an author I like…And this was in that collection at that time and then it came to me and it’s gonna pass after me to somebody else.’ And I think that’s part of the auction world that’s very driven by love.”

So what exactly is Guillermo del Toro offering in his auction? Well, don’t expect to be bidding on his life-size H.R. Giger or that gargantuan Frankenstein head that greets Bleak House visitors. As listed on Heritage Auctions’ website, items up in the first phase include original art from Cronos, the illuminating UV bomb from Blade II, Ron Perlman’s jacket from Hellboy, the “big baby” shotgun from Hellboy II, Pan’s Labyrinth’s clapperboard, maquettes from The Shape Water, and more. The entire auction will also showcase pieces from Walt Disney, H.R. Giger, Ray Harryhausen, and other legends in the field.

In their own statement, Heritage Auctions wrote, in part, “Guillermo del Toro’s collection is unlike anything we’ve ever handled. This is not just memorabilia — it’s the visual and emotional DNA of a singular creative force. Every piece in this auction offers a window into the heart and mind of a true auteur, someone who has reshaped how we see monsters, myths and ourselves…”

In Star Wars: Fall of the Empire, players will take down the AT-AT by attaching their snowspeeder’s tow cable and shooting the spiral ramp to send it crashing down; they’ll destroy the Death Star II by lowering shields on the battle station during Death Star Multiball; and they’ll escape from Cloud City by reactivating the Millennium Falcon’s hyperdrive by hitting the center jump ramp to escape into hyperspace. You’ll enter the Sarlacc Pit, battle stormtroopers, and even mimic using the Force to save your ball on the journey to defeating the Empire.

With 9,023 pieces, the LEGO Death Star is also one of the company’s biggest sets ever, trailing the Eiffel Tower (10,001), the Titanic (9,090) and the Colosseum (9,036). Other Star Wars sets that also get into the thousands include the Millennium Falcon (7,541, the one-time record), the AT-AT (6,785) and the Razor Crest (6,187).

As for dimensions, once built, the set will be 27.5” tall, 32” wide and 10.5” deep. Those numbers are rightfully raising some eyebrows, as released images show that the LEGO Death Star has a flat back, which would in theory allow you to hang it if you so desire but it also misses out on it actually feeling like a perfect model of the Empire’s base. With that, this might be an even tougher sell than the price tag.

LEGO’s Death Star set comes fully packed, however, with 38 minifigures of the likes of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and so many more. With that and the inclusion of locations like the trash chute, Emperor Palpatine’s throne room and more, you’ll be able to recreate pretty much any of your favorite Star Wars scenes – and don’t forget the Superlaser!

Here is LEGO’s official write-up for their Death Star set: “It is packed with details and Easter eggs to delight every fan. There’s the crushing trash compactor where the Rebel heroes were trapped; Princess Leia’s holding cell; the hangar control room that Luke Skywalker and Han Solo infiltrated disguised as Stormtroopers; the tractor beam control unit that Obi-Wan Kenobi deactivated; Emperor Palpatine’s throne room; the hangar bay with the Imperial Shuttle; the Death Star’s Superlaser; and much more.” The set hits shelves on October 4th.

The Conjuring film franchise is set to come to an end with the fourth installment, The Conjuring: Last Rites, which Warner Bros. has scheduled for a theatrical release on September 5th in North America (September 3rd internationally) – and when the movie reaches the big screen, fans will be able to watch it while eating popcorn from an Annabelle popcorn bucket. Regal has confirmed they’ll have the Annabelle popcorn bucket as of this Wednesday, August 20th, or you can buy the popcorn bucket from the Marcus Theatres website for $44.99.

The Conjuring: Last Rites has been given an R rating for bloody/violent content and terror. Coming our way from New Line Cinema, The Safran Company, and Atomic Monster, this is the ninth entry in the overall Conjuring Universe. Entertainment Weekly recently shared that the film is set in 1986, five years after the events of The Devil Made Me Do It. The Warrens have retired from the exorcist business, largely due to Ed’s heart attack, the one sustained during the demonic happenings of the third film. They still hit the university circuit, presenting talks at various schools, but even those opportunities are drying up. Of course, certain events force them back into the fold one last time. They added that the case at the center of Last Rites is one of the more famous events from the Warrens’ career: the Smurl family haunting. According to the New England Society of Psychic Research — the occult-investigating organization now run by Ed and Lorraine’s real-life daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Tony Spera (both of whom cameo in the film) — Janet and Jack Smurl moved their family into a duplex on Chase Street in West Pittston, Pa., in the 1970s. In the years that followed, the Smurls, including their young daughters and Jack’s parents, claimed to experience supernatural occurrences ranging from strange odors and voices all the way to ghostly molestations.  The Smurls’ appearances on TV programs such as Larry King Live and Entertainment Tonight made it one of the more publicized cases of supernatural activity, but it also gave skeptics ammunition to say they sold out for the public spotlight. The story became the subject of the book The Haunted: One Family’s Nightmare (1986) and a 1991 made-for-TV movie starring Sally Kirkland.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise the roles of paranormal investigators / married couple Ed and Lorraine Warren. They’re joined in the cast by Rebecca Calder (Wrath of Man) and Elliot Cowan (Foundation) as Janet and Jack Smurl, with the rest of the Smurl family being played by Kíla Lord Cassidy (Heather), Beau Gadsdon (Dawn), Tilly Walker (Carin), Molly Cartwright (Shannon), Peter Wight (Grandpa Smurl), and Kate Fahy (Grandma Smurl). Mia Tomlinson (The Lost Pirate Kingdom) takes on the role of the Warrens’ daughter Judy, who is now an adult in her 20s. Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse) plays Judy’s boyfriend Tony Spera, and Orion Smith and Madison Lawlor play younger versions of Ed and Lorraine in flashbacks. Shannon Kook is back as Ed and Lorraine’s technical assistant Drew, with John Brotherton apparently reprising the role of Officer Brad Hamilton from the first film. Steve Coulter is back as Father Gordon, a character he played in Annabelle Comes Home, in addition to the Conjuring films.

Michael Chaves, who previously directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, The Nun II, and the Conjuring Universe-adjacent The Curse of La Llorona, is at the helm of The Conjuring: Last Rites, working from a screenplay written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, who also wrote The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, and The Autopsy of Jane Doe writers Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing. Franchise producers James Wan and Peter Safran are producing the film, with Michael Clear, Judson Scott, Natalia Safran, John Rickard, Hans Ritter, Chaves, and Johnson-McGoldrick serving as executive producers. Wan also crafted the story with Johnson-McGoldrick.

The Muppets and Marvel Comics have a surprisingly long history, with the company adapting The Muppets Take Manhattan in comic form in 1984 as part of their Marvel Super Special line, which also gave us panel versions of Blade Runner, Raiders of the Lost Ark and, yes, Kiss. And just a few years ago, the Muppets took over Disney and Marvel properties like The Mandalorian and WandaVision with a collection of spoof posters.

While we’re still waiting to see the covers for all 10 of this Muppet takeover of Marvel superheroes, if they’re anything like what has been revealed already, then we’re ready to light the lights!

While Disney is faring just fine via the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it still just doesn’t have a clue what to do with the Muppets, with the bulk of their series this century only being given one season. And don’t even get me started on them shutting the lights on MuppetVision 3D – no disrespect to The Electric Mayhem.

This lightsaber is believed to be “the only hero lightsaber prop from the original Star Wars trilogy with verifiable screen use ever to be offered at public auction and is widely considered one of the most sought-after items in Star Wars collecting.” But before the lightsaber is sold to the highest bidder, it will go on a three-city press tour to London, New York, and Beverly Hills in August. It will be joined by a bullwhip and belt worn by Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, a hero close-up neuralyzer from Men in Black, and Sauron’s helmet from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.

The lightsaber prop has the following description: “It is constructed from a vintage British press camera flash handle that was transformed into Vader’s infamous weapon through the fitting of dressing components such as plastic grips, calculator bubbles, and cosmetic wiring. This specific prop was further modified with a custom blade-mounting system that facilitated the installation of a wooden rod; the rod served as the blade during the choreographed fight scenes and made the physical, on-camera dueling possible. It also later served as a guide for visual effects artists to add the hand-animated glow for the final shots.“

Just a few years ago, Propstore sold a screen-matched X-Wing fighter model at auction for over $2.3 million. It must be nice to have that kind of money.

Naked Gun fans will get the joke, but is this just a reference to the original, or will Liam Neeson’s Frank Drebin Jr. have his own “beaver” moment?

The film is set to hit theaters in a little over two weeks, but our own JimmyO has already seen the film and LOVED it. “Holy hell, The Naked Gun is the funniest flick I’ve seen for a while,” he said. “Liam Neeson is so freaking perfect as Frank Drebin Jr. and the comedic chemistry he shares the Pamela Anderson is absolutely wonderful. Ms. Anderson is an exceptionally funny comic actress! One sequence in particular had me in tears, laughing so hard. You can see part of it in the trailer. But the compact 85 minute runtime makes this an enjoyable watch from start to finish. It’s consistently funny!“

Some pure silliness sounds like just what the doctor ordered. In fact, that’s why Liam Neeson wanted to star in the film.

“It’s funny because right before Christmas, my sons and I were looking through the Academy screeners and trying to find something silly, some silly, stupid movie that we could giggle at,” Neeson explained last year. “There was none, of course, as they were all very heavy and international. I mean, brilliant movies but all very heavy. When Seth MacFarlane approached me about it — this was about two years ago, now — I thought, yeah, I guess I could do that as long as I play it dead seriously and not try and imitate Mr. Leslie Nielsen. He was wonderful. Akiva Schaffer is directing it and he’s from the [Saturday Night Live] world. I’m looking forward to it. It’s a good script, and there’s a few laugh out loud moments in it.”

Pinball Brothers have previously released machines based on Alien, Queen, and ABBA.

Some pinball fans have noticed that one particular element does seem to be missing: Arnold Schwarzenegger. Pinball Brothers CEO Daniel Janson has confirmed that while they have access to all the video and audio from the Predator movie, they aren’t allowed to use any close-up shots of Schwarzenegger. This is apparently due to a licensing dispute between the actor and Disney. If the dispute is resolved soon, Pinball Brothers will be able to include close-up clips of Dutch through a software update. As it stands now, all the other actors can be utilized, along with wide shots which happen to include Schwarzenegger.

Kevin Feige recently shared his excitement of finally adapting The Fantastic Four in the MCU and particularly the Galactus storyline. The Marvel Studios head explained, “I think that there are no four characters that are more important for the history of Marvel. When Disney bought Fox, it was really an unexpected dream come true. It came at the perfect time, to help us launch into a new era. They are Marvel’s First Family, and I really wanted to do them justice.“

Feige served as an executive producer on Fantastic Four in 2005, and times have changed since those early days of comic-book blockbusters. “There was still a bit of fear of being silly,” Feige said of those early movies. “In another time, some might consider the notion of somebody with a big, angular helmet walking through a city goofy. I consider it awesome.” Feige said this particular story is one he’s always wanted to tell, because “The coming of Galactus is one of the greatest comic-book stories ever written.“

The official synopsis for The Fantastic Four: First Steps: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.” The film will hit theaters on July 25.

After The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Reed (Pedro Pascal), Sue (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny (Joseph Quinn), and Ben (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) will return for Avengers: Doomsday, which recently had its release date pushed back. Doomsday was initially set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026, but has now been moved to December 18, 2026. As for Avengers: Secret Wars, that film has moved from May 7, 2027 to December 17, 2027.

Smile was based on Finn’s short film Laura Hasn’t Slept (watch it HERE), which won the Special Jury Recognition Prize in SXSW’s Midnight Short category. Naomi Scott of Aladdin and Charlie’s Angels takes on the role of Skye Riley and is joined in the cast by Lukas Gage of The White Lotus and You, Rosemarie DeWitt of La La Land and the Poltergeist remake, Dylan Gelula of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Dream Scenario, Raúl Castillo of Army of the Dead and Knives Out, Miles Gutierrez-Riley of The Wilds and On The Come Up, and Kyle Gallner (Red State), reprising the role he played in the first movie.  The film grossed $138 million worldwide, including $69 million domestically.

This isn’t the first time that Funko has given John Cena the Pop! treatment, as he has variants for U Can’t See Me, Never Give Up, The Doctor of Thuganomics, and a Pop! Moment modeled after a WrestleMania showdown with The Rock.

WrestleMania 41 marked John Cena’s 17th appearance at WWE’s grandest stage of them all. With his win on Sunday night, his record stands at 11-6. Other notable victories include those over the likes of Triple H, Shawn Michaels and The Rock. His last singles win at WrestleMania was back in 2015.

John Cena announced his retirement from in-ring wrestling in July, formally kicking off his 2025 farewell tour with this January’s Royal Rumble. While he lost that 30-man match, he would go on to win the Elimination Chamber, giving him the shot at Cody Rhodes’ title, which Rhodes won at WrestleMania XL over a year ago.

While John Cena only has so many matches left in him, you’ll be able to catch him in the much-anticipated second season of Peacemaker, returning August 21st.

Last September, the folks at Arrow Video gave the 2009 Friday the 13th a 4K release – and now they’re set to give the same treatment to two earlier entries in the franchise, 1993’s Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and 2001’s Jason X! According to Stern Pinball’s official press release for the Dungeons & Dragons: The Tyrant’s Eye pinball machine, players are chosen members of the Dragonshield Guild, trying to defeat the dragon queen Tiamat, who is hatching a plan to rise again, triggering the War of Dragons, with Xanathar, Balinor and Sammaster all fighting for power. Players will experience the game’s fantasy world under the glass, fusing pinball with the iconic franchise like never before.

Battle Rath the Relentless, the red dragon, the most advanced animatronic mech in pinball, intelligently reacts to player action with multi-axis motion and features omnidirectional impact sensing technology. Voiced by the iconic Michael Dorn, players will attempt to defeat Rath the Relentless with pinballs and by hitting the 3-bank target, steal its treasure. When Rath the Relentless breathes his magnificent fire, multiple pinballs shoot from its mouth but be prepared. Players can activate a metal shield between the flippers to not only defend against attacks but also assist with playfield shots.

Enjoy mysterious and exciting features by navigating through hidden passageways, experience an electromagnet-powered gelatinous cube that freezes the pinball, and explore dynamic dungeon levels that are accessed through a disappearing playfield trap door. Other features include Fizmo’s store that allows players to acquire unique items, a treasure chest that unleashes mimic monsters, and more secrets to uncover.

Roll the dice with randomness as players unlock where shots and choices control the path of the game’s campaign, driving toward different story endings. Each path is different for players, spanning from characters to trinkets to weekly items and more; once the game campaign has concluded, additional characters will be unlocked.

A few years ago, Spooky Pinball LLC created a pinball machine inspired by John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween, and a while back they also built a Texas Chainsaw Massacre pinball machine, inspired by Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic. Now, they’re continuing their journey through some of the greatest horror movies ever made, as they’ve revealed that their latest pinball machine is inspired by Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead franchise!

Here’s the information: Evil Dead Pinball is a wide body pinball machine set in the world of the first two films of the iconic franchise, The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn. The players will be guided along by Ash Williams, voiced by Bruce Campbell, as they battle the relentless forces of evil. Ash’s now evil girlfriend Linda (voiced by Lara Sluyter) and Professor Knowby (voiced by Scott Innes) will provide an additional level of Deadite trickery and direction to the game. Evil Dead Pinball is our most ambitious game to date, featuring the highest number of mechs in a Spooky Pinball machine yet. The game also features original clips, speech, and sfx from both films. Evil Dead Pinball is the 4th game by the designer duo “Spooky Luke” and Corwin “Bug” Emery. Many other Spooky crew members have returned for this release, including Ben Heck on the code, Matt Montgomery providing the score, Back Alley Creations, on the sculpts. This is also the first in a series of many Spooky Pinball games featuring a full art package by Christopher Franchi. Written and directed by Raimi, the original The Evil Dead has the following synopsis: Ash, his girlfriend Linda, his sister Cheryl, and couple Scotty and Shelly, drive to a remote cabin in the woods for a fun getaway. While there, they find the Naturom Demonto / Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (aka “The Book of the Dead”), an ancient tome whose text reawakens the dead when read out loud. After unintentionally releasing a flood of evil, the five friends must fight for their lives or become possessed.

The film stars Bruce Campbell, Betsy Baker, Ellen Sandweiss, Hal Delrich, and Sarah York. Campbell’s character Ash would go on to fight a whole lot of these demonic creatures over the decades, as Campbell reprised the role in Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, and three seasons of the Ash vs. Evil Dead television series. He has also voiced the character for multiple video games and for this new pinball machine.

The Stern Pinball company is mixing it up with mutants for its new Uncanny X-Men pinball machine, featuring many of Charles Xavier’s best warriors for mutantkind in a time-warping trip filled with Sentinels, Danger Room traps, and high-risk scenarios for the Children of the Atom to overcome!

According to Stern’s official Uncanny X-Men pinball machine press release:

Stern‘s new The Uncanny X-Men pinball games feature Wolverine, Professor X, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Bishop, Kitty Pryde, and Magneto, along with a supporting cast of allies and foes. The adventure takes players to familiar X-Men locations, including the Danger Room, Beast’s Lab, the X-Mansion, and Genosha. Players will also interact with fabled X-Men devices like Cerebro and the X-Jet.

The Uncanny X-Men playfield is a unique pinball layout that features an array of new crossing shots and ramp designs with surprising ball trajectories to deliver kinetic satisfaction. The all-new Danger Room design, located to the left of the main flippers, offers a high-risk, high-reward experience that includes a mini-flipper and a novel outlane spinner. Premium and Limited Edition models also include an all-new elevated captive ball vari-target themed as Beast’s Lab.

The Uncanny X-Men pinball game features a mechanically articulated Sentinel for the player to battle. The Sentinel’s large robotic head changes its state based on the player’s actions. In the Premium and Limited Edition models, the Sentinel rises from underneath the playfield and fights back by destroying the player’s ramps or attacking the ball with its extended hands.

Stern alum Jeremy Packer, aka Zombie Yeti, provides the stunning artwork for Stern’s Uncanny X-Men pinball machine. Each version of the game features a custom X-Men-inspired soundtrack with diverse musical styles articulating different eras designed to bring X-fans closer to the action than ever before. Does the soundtrack do hard? Charlie Benante of Anthrax and Pantera fame composed the score, so you tell me.

Stern’s Uncanny X-Men pinball machines recreate the classic Marvel storylines “Days of Future Past” and “Mind Out of Time,” which the game company notes “takes place in Marvel’s Earth-811 timeline. Stern’s numbered Limited Edition games will be limited to 811 globally for The Uncanny X-Men.  The highly collectible Limited Edition model includes the new Speaker Expression Lighting System with X-Men-themed game effects, a “Danger Room” inspired mirrored backglass, reflective foil “Future vs. Past” high-definition cabinet decals with artwork by Zombie Yeti, exclusive “Sentinel Armor” powder-coated pinball armor, a custom designer-autographed bottom arch, upgraded audio system, anti-reflection pinball playfield glass, shaker motor, a sequentially numbered plaque, a signed Certificate of Authenticity, and a digital Insider Connected LE owner’s badge on registration.

I’ll tilt them all…We all know that Keanu Reeves is one of the most chill, down-to-earth guys in the movie business, and he just renewed that license in one of the nerdiest ways possible, taking time out of his schedule to play the John Wick pinball machine at the San Diego Comic-Con.

The video, posted across Stern’s social media accounts, sees Keanu Reeves saddling up to the John Wick pinball machine at the company’s booth, which also featured Jaws, the 70th Anniversary Premium Edition of Godzilla and more. Reeves looks genuinely interested in the game and proves to be inquisitive throughout his free play, asking the team how much time it took to design the John Wick machine, to which the rep confirmed the time frame was around two years. He also said that 48 minutes of music was used. And while Reeves is genuinely interested in the details and backstory of the John Wick pinball machine, he can’t help but get wrapped up in the game, focusing and screaming, “Look at that! You see that save?!”

Add this moment to the list of viral moments that help make Keanu Reeves one of the coolest guys in the business. Word is that he even signed the John Wick pinball machine he played, no doubt bumping up its retail value well over $9,699. That price is for the Premium Edition, which sits as the mid-ground between the Pro Edition and the more exclusive Limited Edition. Now, we wonder if Reeves has played the pinball machines for Williams’ Bram Stoker’s Dracula or Johnny Mnemonic…

Here is a partial description of the John Wick pinball machine, as per Stern: “As the titular character, players can engage in high-speed car chases and fast-action drifting across the playfield, which incorporates models and artwork inspired by iconic locations from the franchise, including the New York Continental Hotel and the Red Circle Club, all set against a dramatically edge lit New York City skyline. Players can also open John Wick’s weapons crate to reveal a hidden shot target path to retrieve an array of weapons. Players must use the sculpted Blood Oath Marker carefully – or risk the consequences. Players need to survive other assassins, complete jobs for the legendary Factions of the High Table, and eventually take on John Wick’s “Special Assignment!”
